A permanent institutional milestone in the story of 360 Climate Institutes.
A Defining Institutional Milestone
On 2 May 2025, 360 Climate Institutes marked a major milestone with the official dedication and inauguration of its Vocational Skills Training and Youth Empowerment Centre in Gikoe.
The occasion represented more than the opening of a physical training space. It brought into public view a growing commitment to practical learning, youth empowerment, innovation, entrepreneurship and climate-smart responsibility.
The Occasion
The ceremony was graced by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Timothy I. Gichere, Bishop of the ACK Diocese of Mt. Kenya Central, accompanied by church leadership.
The Board of Directors of 360 Climate Institutes was represented under the leadership of Chairperson Mrs. Hannah W. Muriithi, EBS, alongside management, staff, parents, learners, partners, collaborators and alumni.
Meet our leadershipInside the Centre
The inauguration gave guests an opportunity to see learners, training spaces and practical activities up close, connecting the institutional vision with the work happening on the ground.
Guests moved through the Centre and engaged with the people, spaces and activities shaping the learning experience.
Learners demonstrated practical ability and showed how hands-on training can build confidence, capability and pathways toward meaningful opportunity.
Learner participation kept the inauguration connected to its central purpose: equipping young people to learn, create, contribute and build stronger futures.
Dedication & Inauguration
The dedication brought institutional leadership, faith leadership and the wider 360 community together to recognise the Centre and the purpose it was established to serve.
The occasion affirmed a long-term commitment to creating an environment where practical skills, character, innovation and opportunity can grow together.
Student Innovation Showcase
Student-led presentations formed an important part of the day, bringing practical learning into public view and showing how skills, creativity and technology can connect with opportunity.
Digital Opportunity
The inauguration programme also introduced an AI Foundation learning pathway through Youth Innovation Hub, powered by GICT Systems, expanding the conversation from practical vocational skills into responsible use of emerging digital tools, creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation.
That future-ready direction continues through the Youth Innovation Hub focus on digital innovation, idea incubation, entrepreneurship, collaboration, climate-smart thinking and green technology.
N.E.S.T.S. in Action
The inauguration reflected principles that remain central to 360 Climate Institutes today: Nurture, Empower, Skill, Transform and Sustain.
Create a supportive environment where potential, confidence and purpose can grow.
Open pathways to opportunity through learning, exposure, mentorship and participation.
Build practical capability for work, enterprise, innovation and real-world problem-solving.
Turn learning and potential into meaningful progress for individuals and communities.
Strengthen stewardship, resilience and climate-smart responsibility for the future.
A Shared Milestone
The inauguration brought together the people who help give the Institute its life: learners, families, leadership, staff, partners, collaborators, alumni and community.
Their participation reinforced a simple idea: sustainable transformation becomes stronger when learning and opportunity are rooted in community.
Planting for the Future
Tree planting connected the milestone with stewardship, continuity and responsibility, values that remain part of 360 Climate Institutes' climate-smart learning approach.
Like the learners who pass through the Centre, what is established today must be nurtured over time if it is to grow, strengthen communities and create lasting impact.
