Cha Mama Initiative

Childcare should not stand between a young mother and her future.

Cha Mama Day Care Baby Crèche is a 360 Climate Institutes initiative that brings safe childcare closer to vocational learning so young mothers can continue building skills, confidence and more secure futures.

Care that supports learning. Learning that strengthens independence.

Why Cha Mama Exists

A practical response to a barrier that was keeping mothers out of training.

Young mothers can have the determination to learn and become self-reliant, yet childcare can make regular attendance difficult or impossible.

During 360 Climate Institutes' youth empowerment journey, young mothers had to be turned away and more than 20 trainees had dropped out because of childcare challenges. Cha Mama was developed as a practical response to that experience.

How Cha Mama Helps

Care, opportunity and practical support around the learner.

Cha Mama is designed around the realities young mothers face while pursuing skills, personal growth and greater independence.

01

Safe childcare

Childcare support during training hours helps mothers stay closer to their children while remaining engaged in learning.

02

Training continuity

The initiative helps reduce a practical barrier to vocational skills training and personal development.

03

Mentorship and dignity

Encouragement and a supportive learning environment help young mothers rebuild confidence and keep moving forward.

04

A pathway forward

Skills, confidence and continuity in learning can strengthen resilience, livelihoods and family stability over time.

Learning & Opportunity

Supporting motherhood without disconnecting women from learning.

Cha Mama is not a separate course or training department. It is an enabling initiative designed to make continued participation in learning more possible for young mothers facing childcare barriers.

Depending on their interests and available training opportunities, learners can explore the same programme pathways offered across 360 Climate Institutes.

A Milestone in the Journey

Cha Mama was officially launched on 25 July 2026.

The launch brought students, guests, supporters and community together around a practical idea: young mothers should have a better chance to continue learning while caring for their children.

The launch day is preserved separately as an event record, while this page follows the continuing purpose of the initiative.
